Frequently asked questions

What is ADR transport?
ADR is the European Agreement for international road transport of dangerous goods (Geneva, 1957). It regulates packaging, labelling, documentation, vehicles and driver competence for substances that pose a danger to people, animals or the environment.
What are the ADR classes?
ADR classifies dangerous goods into 9 classes: 1 (explosives), 2 (gases), 3 (flammable liquids), 4 (flammable solids), 5 (oxidisers/peroxides), 6 (toxic/infectious), 7 (radioactive), 8 (corrosive), 9 (miscellaneous - asbestos, lithium batteries).
Are all Ecotech MaxSpeed drivers ADR-certified?
Not all, but all drivers performing ADR transport hold a valid ADR certificate for the classes transported. The certificate is renewed every 5 years through a refresher course.
Can I transport non-ADR cargo on the same shipment?
Yes, under certain conditions. We verify compatibility between substances (compatible classes, physically separated if needed). The safety data sheet (MSDS) helps us quickly assess compatibility.
What are the ADR restrictions on European routes?
Main restrictions are tunnel categories (A-E) - some tunnels do not allow certain ADR classes. We plan routes that respect restrictions (e.g., for Mont Blanc we avoid category E). Plus weekend/holiday restrictions in AT, DE, IT.
